W 232 Baptism Once for Life: Including Renewal of Baptism in the Affirmation of Baptismal Faith (2017)


It is increasingly common that those who were baptized as infants later come to a real experience of faith, and (often influenced by practice in other denominations) seek a ‘second baptism.’ 

Is it possible to retain a proper understanding of baptism as a once-for-all admission to the community of faith—and offer a pastoral rite that meets this felt need? This study argues it is—and shows how it might be done.
