W 185 Mothering Sunday (2005)

Mothering Sunday is a time of mixed emotions. Being a mother is demanding and calls for affirmation, yet many find the occasion so painful that they will avoid it at all costs.

Yet the history of Mothering Sunday is much broader than the focus on biological mothers. This creative study draws on a wide range of reflection and shows how it can become a celebration to which all individuals will be drawn regardless of their own personal experience.
