P 97 Personality and the Practice of Ministry: A Study in Empirical Theology

How much are patterns of ministry shaped by the personality of the minister? The Pastoral Care Survey, conducted in conjunction with the Evangelical Alliance and CWR, looked at a wide range of issues relating ministry and personality. This second report arising from the Survey focuses especially on how personality shapes ministry, including:

  • differences in personality from one denomination to another
  • the prioritization of tasks in ministry
  • the size and composition of congregations

The conclusions show the value of personality study in selection, training and ongoing support of ministers, and make essential reading for those concerned with these issues.
