He held five Board-level posts in Governmental Departments including Director General for Youth Policy and Director General for Employment Policy. He is a Governor of St John's College, Durham, a Reader in the Anglican Church and chairs lay ministry selection conferences for Guildford Diocese. He was formerly a Visiting Professor at Durham University. Peter has also written 'Conversation Matters: how to engage effectively with one another' published by Continuum Press.
