eD 9 Journeying Through Bereavement in Schools (2011)


What to do when a pupil, parent, teacher or grandparent dies? Does everyone react in the same way to a death? What prayers could we use? What books could we refer to? What might the bereavement journey feel like?

This study explores these questions and much more. There is a wealth of resources contained here for helping schools provide appropriate support for those who are grieving.

Ian Terry trained as a teacher in York and taught in southern Africa and held three school chaplaincies. He researched church school values (PhD) whilst Hereford Diocesan Director of Education, and is currently, whilst Team Rector of Bournemeouth Town Centre Parish, Visiting Fellow with Bournemouth University, engaged in doctoral research (DTh) in practical theology with Winchester University.
