E 175 Technology and the Rise of Transhumanism: Beyond Genetic Engineering (2014)

Transhumanism is the belief that there should be no limit to the extent of technological enhancement of human being, since our nature is essentially that of information and will. As such it looks very similar to a form of religious belief.

This penetrating study explores the realities of this belief, and, whilst recognising some points of contact with Christian understandings, contrasts it with biblical theologies of human being and the goal of creation. It offers a powerful and intelligent response to a key social phenomenon.
