E 174 On Gay Marriage (2014)

Recent changes in the law have had the stated aim of “extending” marriage, as previously defined to be between one man and one women, to include two people of the same sex. But does this extend marriage or redefine it? And do we have a consistent understanding of marriage in the first place? This careful study teases out the issues and implications of this change and its ethical consequences.
