Being forced to conduct services online during the COVID-19 pandemic has been both a frustration and an opportunity, particularly with regard to the holy communion.
This study explores how communion has been shared remotely—from spiritual communion to ‘bubble’ Eucharist and livestreamed services—and asks whether it can and should be encouraged, both under lockdown and in contagion-free times.
