Description
Justin Martyr is a key figure in the development of Christian thought about the person of Jesus—not as someone we would now call ‘orthodox,’ but as part of what we might call ‘proto-orthodoxy.’
His thinking about Jesus as messiah, teacher and especially as ‘logos’ did important work in considering how we could understand the person of Jesus as of cosmic significance and being divine in the context of Jewish monotheism.
