Celebrating the seasons of the Christian year can feel like an overfussing obligation to do more; but rightly understood, the Christian year can function as a helpful container for spiritual disciplines.

This study shows how using it can bring a healthy rhythm of grace and be a means of growth in the likeness of Christ and at the same time as holding out the promise of spiritual refreshment to those as yet outside the church.
