Janet Goepel trained as a teacher in Sheffield, specializing in music and education. She was a university lecturer for 17 years, and has a Masters and Doctorate in education. She has been involved as a piano/keys player in churches since the age of 10, developing skills such as learning to play by ear, from music for hymns and songs and from guitar chords. She has held positions as music coordinator in two large churches in Sheffield and continues to contribute to music and worship in her home church.
