Ray trained at Nottingham and ministered in the Potteries and London before planting the pioneer ecumenical church at Bowthorpe, Norwich. He is now Guardian of the dispersed Community of Aidan and Hilda and principal tutor of its Celtic Christian Studies programme. He lives on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne near the Community’s retreat house, The Open Gate.
